4 c red wine (Merlot is fine)
3/4 c good brandy
1/2 c Cointreau or Grand Marnier
1/2 c sugar (to taste; you can reduce this amt)
8 tblsp fresh lemon juice, squeezed
1 orange, slice thinly
1 slices (yellow cling) drained
1/4 cup coctail cherries
Combine all the liquids in a pitcher and add sugar, stirring until dissolved. Combine with fruits, stir, cover and refrigerate at least an hour, but best overnight. Serve with chilled glasses and ice.
